Estate Planning and Probate Services

Whether you require a simple will or an advanced estate plan, the attorneys at Boutin and Altieri will help you plan for your family's future needs. A basic estate plan meets the needs of many individuals and families and includes a will, power of attorney for financial affairs, and durable power of attorney for health care. To avoid probate in small estates, we also include a simple transfer of all assets to husband and wife as joint tenants. Because estate planning also includes not only death, but also care planning for the rest of your life, we also address HIPPA authorizations and nominations of guardians (e.g., to husband and wife) should one ever be required.

Probate and Administrative Services: Probate is the court supervised process by which a person’s financial affairs are settled after passing. It confirms that creditors are afford the opportunity to settle any claims, it enables the distribution of estate assets to designated beneficiaries (also known as Legatees) or if someone passes without a will to his or her “heirs at law.” At Boutin & Altieri, P.L.L.C., our goal is to identify any potential problems and wrap up all outstanding issues as quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively as possible. We also provide ancillary probate administration services for executors who live outside New Hampshire, without your need to return to the state.

Avoiding Probate: With proper planning, it is also possible to avoid probate. Our firm is experienced in the use of joint tenancies, trusts, life insurance, and other strategies to protect assets and pass them directly to your loved ones without passing through Probate Court.
